Max Kellerman on FIRST TAKE thinks Brady will fall off the cliff this year, simply on account of age. No great quarterback has remained great past the age Brady is about to reach. Johnny U, Namath, Montana, Marino, Elway... none of them.

Then again, that's how records get set. Something has never ever ever been done until the first time someone does it.

One thing I am fairly certain of. If Brady does fall off a cliff, or even begin to noticeably decline, Evil Little Bill will cut him instantly. Evil Little Bill is all head, no heart. And if Brady-Past-His-Prime decides (foolishly) to try to prolong his career, it will probably be the Jets (foolishly) who pick him up.

The Patriots cut their 3rd string QB. This is Brady's last season with the Patriots unless he is willing to take back up money next year.

Brady and his team just won the Super Bowl.

And now, before the season even starts, he should be a backup?

but they will keep Garoppolo after this season. He may or may not start in 2018 depending on Brady's status, but he will be either under contract or with the franchise tag for starter's money. Brady may very well take back up money and stay the starter.

2. GRRM is a big Jets fan.

When a Jets fan calls you Evil, it's more likely that they are tired, jealous, and patheticly beleaguered from the consistent losing, rather than a call to action for self reflection.

And Max Kellerman is a boxing announcer. who was suspended by ESPN for admitting to hitting his girlfriend during an argument.
