Oktoberfest beer mugs. Isn't palming them instead of using the handle defeating the purpose?!1

Wouldn't the handle prolong keeping the beer *cold*?!1 But perhaps my provincial/ignorance misinforms me - do they drink it warm, or it doesn't last long enough in the container to get warm?!1

If the beer stays in the mug long enough to get warm, you're not doing it right. Iggo Sep 2017 #1

Those are each a liter of beer in a very thick, heavy glass vessel. If you just grab them by the handle it wears your wrist out pretty quickly, and they're hard to control as you try to drink from them. I consumed my share of these while I was stationed in Germany.

I have quite a little collection of these from the various breweries. (The last time I was at Oktoberfest in Munich I went through 7 of these...but spread out through the whole day.)

(We went to Hofbrauhaus in Las Vegas several years ago, and I ordered a liter of beer. When the server put it in front of me, my sister-in-law asked, "What's that?" I told her it was a beer. She asked if it was a pitcher for the table, and I explained that it was mine, and if she wanted one she'd have to order one of her own.)
