Julie hadn't posted much in recent years, but she was a DU stalwart for a long time. I met her at the BartCop meetup at James Carville's restaurant in DC back in the early 2000s where she spotted me and my husband looking lost, and came over and embraced us with her charm, warmth and friendliness.
Julie decided that she wanted to be a published author, and then contacted just about every agent in America, finally finding one, getting picked up by Avon Impulse publishers, and becoming a successful author with her original take on the romance novel - combining romance and her 2nd love (after politics): Seattle Seahawks football. She wrote the "Love and football" romance series under the name Julie Brannagh.
She was involved in progressive causes in her hometown of Seattle, and God, did she hate Donald Trump.
She leaves her husband Eric and her big old dog Moose, and hundreds of friends and admirers.

Oh, my. I was a secret admirer. Her posts always sang to me, even 1 or 2 sentences. That she was an accomplished writer was unknown to me but is unsurprising. We'll miss you, Julie.
