for a slice of pizza. I don't know what Uber would charge, but it would be a $35 cab ride, each way, minimum ($70 plus tips, round trip). I doubt the pizza is good enough to merit the fare, tip, and time it would take.

Why is everyone recommending pizza, anyway? You're in Chicago: there are a thousand great restaurants. But if pizza is what you want, stay closer. Coalfire, mentioned above, is good. Or I'd recommend Macello's, on Lake street: get the Pizza Macello, a wood-fired pizza with lamb sausage, cerignola olives, and burrata. Plus you can get a good glass of wine or order from the Italian dishes on the full menu. Hop on the Green Line train and get off at Morgan, walk 3 or 4blocks further west on Lake Street.
