Just woke up.
The eyewall is about to hit Key West. It's really scary seeing the videos from down there. I think they've been out of power for a while now. Reporting 95 mph gusts.
Miami is getting 66 mph gusts with stinging rain.
Tornado warning in effect until noon with a Tor:Con of 8(80% chance of tornadic activity).

We just got water without a boil ban yesterday after Harvey knocked out the cities water supply!

(9,231 posts)My son lives in Lake Worth but is evacuated to Orlando. Wind might be just as bad up there but not as close to ocean.

(4,407 posts)Gusts that remind me of Wilma, but not the sustained winds (yet?). My thoughts and prayers for those on West Coast of Florida.

(9,426 posts)I can not imagine how terrifying it must be. The wrath of Mother Nature is banging at the door. So many people in desperate straits. All we can hope for is that it comes to an end sooner than expected. We are all thinking of you.

(7,968 posts)I think that is a good thing as long as it doesn't get a chance to strengthen while spinning around in the Eastern Gulf.

(3,065 posts)Made it through the storm just fine. Power blinked out a few times, but for less than a minute. DSL held all day. Dish network went out a few times.
Took a drive around the neighborhood and had to navigate around several tree limbs and palm tree fronds. White caps on the pond blowing spray on the road. Not much in the way of flooding.
