(29,199 posts)But totally unrealistic for 1944 Germany.
Made in the late 1960s ( released in 1970 ) with, of all people, Clint Eastwood in the title role.
Don Rickles, Telly savalas ( "who loves you, baby" ), Donald Sutherland, and MicHale's navy and later love boat captain Gavin Macleod.
Great film.

(82,849 posts)A Friday night movie when you're too fried from work all week to really engage your brain. Nice scenery (courtesy of the former Yugoslavia), lots of stars and familiar faces, pretty good action sequences, a couple of guys who don't make it, and some good one-liners. What's not to like?

(47,548 posts)Mike Curb would later go on to be Lieutenant Governor of California ('79-'83) under Jerry Brown. And I just read he's also in the NASCAR Hall Of Fame. LOL...who knew?

No tanker ever says he rides a tank; he crews the tank.
The scenes where Oddball is setting up targets for the gunner are so not the way fire missions are conducted, it's funny.
I made it through the film once, and liked it, But I probably won't watch it again...
