9. They are smart critters

Totally adaptable. And they love my feral cats' food. I tell the cats constantly not to bother them but just let them eat. I'll give them the kitties more food in the morning.

Raccoons being omnivorous will gladly take the kitties themselves for dinner if they don't get their fill elsewhere. We have huge urban raccoons and a few years ago there was a gang of em taking household pets down in Olympia.

the other night. I thought the burglars were back. I flipped on the light and saw 2 huge racoons playing. Delightful.

12. There was one I see in my FL neighborhood who I was worried how he/she'd weather the storm.

Thankfully, yesterday I saw him/her scurrying about, so all is well.
