Watched it two times the first night.

Then, after having seen the film several times throughout the years it came to me, who was redeemed? It wasn't Andy, the Tim Robbins character. It was Red, Morgan Freeman, whose redemption is cited in the title.

A fucking wonderful film.

I have been a fan ever since. L.A.Confidential was the film that made me take notice of him.

Saw him three times in concert with his band at the Hpuse of Blues in Chicago. Saw the Oscar he won for Best Actor for GLADIATOR in 2001.

But L.A. Confidential is special. I compare it to Chinatown and The Two Jakes. I watched it again after I learned that Spacey said that his acting is 90% body language. He is really good!

Anyway great movie and soundtrack.

That LAC lost to that dreck was ridiculous. My wife and i walked out of Titanic, laughing out loud.

Dreadful. And yeah, my wife and me, so it wasn't just me having no sense of romance or something. Just felt it an insult to our intelligence.

I read and loved the novel, and I was astounded that it could be adapted to the screen so brilliantly.

In addition to L.A. Confidential, my other favorite is Boogie Nights.

But there was also Good Will Hunting, The Game, The Sweet Hereafter, In the Company of Men, Donnie Brasco, Wag the Dog, Jackie Brown. And I almost forgot, Ang Lee's Ice Storm was absolutely brilliant.
