10. Triple it

Raise it by $1 an hour every 6 months until it's up to $20.50 an hour (where it should be based on inflation) then chain it to inflation so it automatically goes up.

I remember when they screamed "the sky is falling" when they raised it from $4.25 to $4.85. Cheeseburgers were going to cost $20 if they did it.

Guess what, now I can still go buy a damn cheeseburger for a buck, just like I could 20 years ago.

I want the single payer as well as the triple!

I'll settle for double, single payer, and no more tax refunds for $Billion+/yr corps, and a massive infrastructure overhaul of the entire US.

HA!

any of the congressmen/women to come home and live on the minimum wage. Even if it was $9/hour. I would dare them to attempt to live on $25/hour. Buy a house. Buy a car. Send two children to school. Enjoy a movie. Join a bowling league or enroll in an exercise club. Out of touch, I say.

End unearned income for tax purposes. End a cap on social security tax. People who "earn", and I use that term loosely, the biggest share of the money should pay the biggest share of the taxes. Or at the very least the fair share of the taxes. And I won't even go into the corporate taxes, or should I say non taxes.

At an hourly rate, not a salary rate.

We would all be making $30 an hour within 6 months.

I think everyone who opposes a minimum wage increase should try working for the minimum wage. I do, and if I didn't get help from my family, I would not be able to have a roof over my head while attending college.

I well remember working 2 jobs, so I could get enough hours, in college. Perspective employers will take into account the fact you worked and were able to graduate when get there.
