Related: About this forumI have been without a contract since Jan 1 2013
We have reached an agreement with the City of Omaha. The local will present the offer on Sept 29th. We will vote on it two weeks later.
Sorry I have been so busy the last week. I haven't been on the DU much.

(38,958 posts)1. We went over a year
without one so that the effects of the ACA could be interpreted into the new agreement. Like every other one we have seen over these last few times, I found a very few good things and more negatives, but it passed by a large margin of those who came to vote.
I didn't like it, but voted for the contract.

I hope the newest contract offer gives you something more than plain stability. Where new contracts used to routinely include a pay increase, improved benefits, etc., it now seems that 'not giving away the farm' is the best that can be hoped for.
