Does Anyone Know Anything About Bamboo Bicycles....

I picked up an estate sale find vintage bamboo bike. Now many of the parts on the bike are bamboo - some areas of the bike are wrapped with bamboo over what looks to be a traditional bicycle frame. It has 26" wheels of traditional metal. It has modern handle bar brakes. I bought it because I've never before seen nor heard of a bamboo bike. It looks old or vintage - though I have no way of dating it.

What I'm curious to know is did I get ripped off and this is just a fake reproduction of a bamboo bike or did I make a smart purchase and there is value to it.

Any comments would be appreciated.

3. Thanks For The Pic....

I have a boys bike. The one in the picture you posted has some elements like the pedals, the wheels and the gear that drives the bike - as looking like they are bamboo as well. Those parts on my bike are more traditional and not bamboo. I'm thinking that maybe I can renovate mine to include those elements.

This pic is very close to what my bike looks like. This bike looks a little newer and mine looks older and is showing its age. I don't know if that makes it more or less valuable.
