I just love holding something in my hand that has a sign of life from millions of years ago.

Great granddad AL Roberson was a Stampeder in the Yukon Gold Rush.
Grandpa Jim collected dinosaur eggs from the Dakotas to set in the mantle of his fireplace.
My father collected mastodon ivory from the dredge tailings in Fox, Alaska to pay for college.
As a Geotechnical engineer I have collected many samples of rocks from my many projects throughout Alaska.

Started as a kid at the beach looking for agates. They seem to appear in the oddest places. It is a game I play, with my older sister, to see who finds the first agate of the year.
