Started out as a plein air sketch..

On our last Acadia jaunt, I didn't just snap photos. I also plonked myself down on a stadium cushion perched on the edge of a ledge. I had stuffed my "everything-but-the-kitchen-sink" art goddess bag into my little osprey backpack, so I settled in and attempted to sketch the beach in pencil and watercolor. Finally finished it all these days later. LOL

ability to write and draw if I practice at it, but those other two, I'd never be able to become provident in those skills enough that what I perform would feel right.

He was a commercial artist (Norman Rockwell claimed he was one, as well)

I mentioned in that post that he loved Lyendecker's work (Rockwell's predecessor, and perhaps mentor)

What he did on his own were lots of portraits, stylized, of movie stars of the day. (sample, anonymized, sorry Dad)

No, his name isn't Gene Tierney.
He did some landscapes and still lifes (lives?) (in oil) -- early on and later, Come to think of it -----
I think his productive years were before and after my brother and I were living there. Go figure. Shy?
