want to wear a string sack while looking for something I like, or stick with a padded strap backpack. Going to try out the Pentalic sketchbook again. It felt really dry when I tried to paint Trixie. UPDATE: Tim's loaning me his running pack. 😍

1. I'm trying to teach myself

watercolors. Trying to learn how to make my paint flow.
Harder than it looks.

2. Easier on good cold pressed cotton paper, that's for sure. Trying to force it on

hot pressed, which many of my journals are, is hard. CansonXL is a nice flowy paper for pulp, but it dries too fast.

3. I'm no artist and how do you decide on the composition of the sketch or painting? nt

4. It has to be interesting to me, for a start. There are rules you can follow, but lots of people

break them if it works. Not everything I choose as a subject has a good composition, but I haven't been doing this long enough to be able to edit in my head or even on sketch paper to move things around to remove or add something to improve things. I am getting pretty good at playing with color, tho.
