Smithsonian and U.S. Army join forces to save works of art and culture threatened by war.

A new collaboration between the U.S. Army and the Smithsonian Institution is expanding the numbers and capabilities of monuments officers in times of war. Their mission is to advise military commanders on how to minimize damage to art and key sites and to aid foreign allies whose cultural heritage is at risk. Jeffrey Brown reports for our arts and culture series, "CANVAS."

I welcome it as a lover of art! Few things are more heartbreaking than watching the destruction of and the looting of a country’s national art and heritage. I wish I could know these Monuments men personally.

Eh, on my cellphone where I have my Internet access I have to transfer screengrabs & photos to my micro SD mostly empty(!), from my nearly completely full internal storage which will not let restore my HBO app untill I clear out files more. 🙄🙃😜

After on & on fussing I finally got a second tech person (by phone) to show me what to do. Started working (yay), then stopped 2 days later (wth?!). Was taking quite a long time bc has be done one by one 😑 instead of a bunch at a time.

When I Finally get it operating I'll look for it! 👍

My basic cellphone's battery went kaput in Sumner '18. Had trouble getting a replacement battery. Sort of stopped looking since I did have a landline.

Then when covid hit I had to get a smartphone bc I didn't have WIFI at home, and I'd lose almost all net access.
I loooove my phone. 😁

Take care!
