I just discovered with gouache, you can "erase" things!

This was painted on water color paper I prepared with a layer of acrylic gesso so it wouldn't be so porous. After finishing the first one, which I posted here the other day, I decided I didn't like the distant water tower right in the middle, so I moved it to the right. Then I moved the white marker to the inside of the fence (in the reference photo it was outside the fence). Then I decided the fence made the painting too cluttered so I erased it and added a couple ruined gravestones. So, if you're working with gouache and don't like some part of your work, you can just erase bits by applying water carefully, dabbing it off and letting it dry. You can't do that with either water color or acrylics.
