10. Faces are a challenge

It’s always difficult to find that one thing that makes it the unique face of that person. The highlights and shadows are usually what can nail it or screw it up. The challenge is what keeps me interested in doing portraits.

He’s one of my great American heroes. When he was alive he made me feel so proud to be an American. He was a huge influence in molding my views of justice and equality. I was a teenager when he was alive, and a big part of my world fell down when he was assassinated.

He has been an inspiration to me. Whenever my hope fades, I re-read his "Letter from a Birmingham Jail".

all I have to do is think about the immense burden he and his small group of activists took on and how their commitment changed this country. And they did it at a time when White Supremacy was entrenched solidly into our lives.

Trump is nothing more than the personification of the dregs, the left-over scum, of that time in our history. MLK Jr. would tell us we can and will defeat everything in this country that Trump personifies.

...creation. I almost expect to hear his voice.

I just showed it to my husband, who said, “Wow!”
