A couple of pics and a huge thank you for your input and support with the Owls painting.

The sweet coworker for whom I painted the owls passed away Thursday. In her honor, the school is hosting a dinner and silent auction to fund a legacy gift which will provide students with a book on each birthday. I thought long and hard about what I should paint for the auction, and settled on the local ice cream parlor, which is hugely popular. I am pretty happy with the sketch. The real painting gets started tomorrow.

Playing around with Geraniums. Not quite finished but not sure when I’ll get back to it.

Please keep thinking of her family. She left behind a husband, 4 yo son, parents and sister, and many, many students.

I can imagine them in children’s books. I can remember how entranced I was with the illustrations in books. Maybe it was the artist in me but I would spend a lot of time studying them, immersing myself in them. To this day I still have vivid memories of those drawings. I think your kids will too.

Geraniums are wonderful flowers to paint.

I’m looking forward to seeing the finished products.
