It makes me think that you’re capturing much more than the face of a subject. Like you’re painting that person’s energy or emotional state. I really like the colors you used and the incredible texture of the paint itself. Your treatment of the background around the subject’s head is very developed and fits very well with the treatment of the subject’s defined facial features. The green reminds me of the patina on bronze.

This appeals to me for all the above reasons. I think you did a great job on the colors, the textures, and the mood the combination presents to the viewer. There is also a feeling of depth which is mysterious and elusive in your portrait as well as a painterly sensuality in the way you worked the paint. It’s very good, and it’s quite interesting in an artistic way. It’s impressive!
