The Golden Globes nominations for the best of film and television were announced this morning. The 83rd annual ceremony will be held on January 11, 2026, with Nikki Glaser returning to host again. While the event is further apart from the Emmys (when considering TV awards), it certainly has the power to influence how the rest of the movie awards will go.
The list is largely dominated by the critically acclaimed movies and TV shows we expected to see here: One Battle After Another further cements its standing as the 2026 Best Picture frontrunner, while Hamnet and Sentimental Value are all still strong players. Wicked: For Good, however, may be slipping out of Best Picture after missing here, despite the continued praise for its lead actresses.

This is controlled by the Hollywood Foreign Correspondents' Association, so they have certain criteria. By the time the Oscars are given out next April, there will be at least 5 or 6 more awards shows.
