We won’t get to see it here, because TCM Australia was killed off two weeks ago by arch-villain Rupert Murdoch. Why, I don’t know – probably because he’s too mean to spend money buying enough product for it.

Of course, today we heard about Carrie Fisher, one more to add to the long list for 2016. There were more people there than I recalled – it’s been a terrible year.

However, I think as technology gives us increasing options, we'll be able to share more films, not fewer, throughout the world.

As for the memorial, and especially today's news, it's been an especially difficult year for the arts.
