Classical Music
Related: About this forumLove of music via The Heart is a Lonely Hunter
It's Alan Arkin week on TCM, which showed The Heart is a Lonely Hunter (1968) last night. Knew nothing of the film or the Carson MCullers book it is based on. Highly recommend, not least for this scene where leading actress Sondra Locke (superb) explains the joy of music and in particular Mozart to the deaf roomer who shares her house, Mr. Singer (Arkin, also superb).
Both actors were nominated for Academy Awards. This was the best scene IMO and as someone whose life has been likewise enriched by classical music I am glad something like it was made at least once in American cinema:

Here is her favorite Mozart, the Romanze from the Piano Concerto No. 20, K466
