One was this Violin Concerto and the other wasn't.

This is a wonderful performance indeed.

the arrangement is beautiful as well, and the orchestra superb.

hilary makes the violin sing, I can't get over her skill and phrasing.

these performers can remember all the notes plus the violin "ain't got no frets" and they place their fingers such that they still hit all the right notes. I know, practice, practice, practice but damn! To me the violin, as a musical instrument, is the most able to convey the expression of emotion.
This is one of my favorites. Combined with the visual it really gets to me.

with violinists a lot of it is muscle memory, after a while it's something they don't think about.

I know at first, stickers are used to guide players then removed when they get the hang of it.

So clean. Loved the pizzicato (sp?) and the kettle drums.

Where was it performed? Remind me of Chicago from... the 70s..

I think they are all my favorites.

Although possibly not quite as technically perfect, I can definitely recommend watching this live in a cathedral. It takes one's breath away.
