The Hillcrest Wind Ensemble performed a band arrangement of this at a recent concert. It was my last concert with them after 39 years. Since I'm moving to Spain I left the group. Bittersweet concert for me.

The piece is extremely difficult. Not technically but the phrasing and muted dynamics make it very hard for a wind band to play.

Seeing that some things in life are fleeting.
I read up on Spain as a possible 'Plan B', if you know how I mean.
My step-dad's family is in the UK. That's a consideration.
I am enamored of Jacob's Ridge Sanctuary in Murcia. Found it on YT providentially. Purchased some items from them recently. The Donkeys especially are a hoot! They have videos of them interacting with the founder, Julian. I believe they have 'understanding' as do many animals.

I love the dissonant color resolving into this exquisite harmony. And so climactic.
