I love Mahler with a passion. Mostly I love playing Mahler. We are doing Mahler 4 this next season. I have downloaded my music, it is quite complex . Will be listening, thank you!

Lol, love the drummer.

I play clarinet. Big part, Bb, A and Eb. Schaltracter Auf (spelling off the top of my head) nothing like playing a woodwind with the bells in the air!

Enjoy yourself, have fun!

Are you doing it soon?

Favorites are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 (oddly enough).

Also big Shostakovich listener - esp the 4th (not an easy listen until one falls in love with it - such pain and suffering in the notes!)

I am partial to Shostakovich symphony 7. Also painful.

Have you heard the violin concerto? If not you must. I have rarely had so much fun playing it, great parts for the orchestra. It almost seems like circus music.

it practically killed me.
BTW, this one is known as, The Tragic. I spent the first few days of rehearsals with tears running down my face.

Everything he did was brilliant and I had the incredible privilege to intern for him.

The Maestro was a genius and I love his music!
