Music Appreciation
Related: About this forumHeart. One of my High School favorites is still one of my favorite bands.
And it isn't all 70s nostalgia either. This is from 2012
Just like they've done with all old rock bands, FM radio reduced Heart's discography into a couple songs they play ad nauseum.
But even on the albums from which they pulled "Magic Man" and "Barracuda" as singles, there were songs as good or better.
Like "White Lightning and Wine" from the debut album
Or "Go On Cry" which I always thought was a masterpiece of 70's orchestral/prog rock from the album Little Queen - An album remembered more for straight arena anthems like "Barracuda" and "Kick it Out"
James Hetfield - Also a fan

Also love Dream of the Archer, think that was on Little Queen.

(13,800 posts)"Dream Of the Archer" was on Little Queen as well & I love it, but my weakness is editing my posts - I have to force myself to omit things or the OPs will become a mile long and 10 miles deep...
Here's a cassette tape era rocker I was digging way back when I was The Polack Airman

The others are wonderful - must be somethin' I ate.

They were outstanding. They did a 4 song mini-set of Zeppelin songs that brought down the roof.
The big act before them (6 to 8 months prior) was Climax Blues Band. Before that it was Sha Na Na. I passed on that show!
