I'm on a late 1970s/early 1980s country music kick lately...

I have been playing Dolly, Kenny Rogers, Gary Morris, Crystal Gayle and especially Eddie Rabbitt constantly the last few days. So much of that music still sounds fresh and just as good, if not better, than it did then. Who's with me?

Loved him and Rita Coolidge when they sang together. He is probably one of the best writers of songs ever

very good. I’m not a big fan of later Country and Western but the 60s and 70 s stuff reminds me of road trips in the family Chevy with 8 tracks playing non-stop.

George Jones and Razzy Bailey were pretty amazing back then, too.

Rosanne Cash’s Seven Year Ache album can still hold up the sky. 😁

The 1980s were a great time for country/pop duets. Kenny Rogers had three huge duet hits with Kim Carnes ("Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer), Sheena Easton ("We've Got Tonight) and of course, Dolly Parton ("Islands in the Stream). Eddie Rabbitt hit #1 with both Crystal Gayle and Juice Newton ("You and I" and "Friends and Lovers", respectively). Crystal Gayle had an entire duets album with Gary Morris. Great times.
