Finally Derek slowed down enuff to be tasteful, not just scintillating..

Tom played rhythm guitar..

My favorite living blues singer, that is. Janis Joplin is my all-time favorite.

There was a bar, part of the Quaker Steak & Lube complex in Sharon PA, that brought national blues acts in every Sunday night. The owner was quite wealthy and really did it for his own entertainment without a cover charge back in the late '80s and early '90s.

Tedeshi, Studebaker John, Mason Ruffner, Jimmy Thackery, and a very young protege', Derek Trucks played the centrally located elevated stage. Trucks was only about 16 and in high school at the time, so he only showed up in the summer months as his parents insisted he graduate. It was obvious at the time he was going places.

Clearly, he and Susan Tedeshi were on the same touring route and must have hooked up somewhere along the line, perhaps at a double billing. I've yet to see the results of that union, but it's on my radar.
