I know I am in the minority (and Dolly herself says she likes the Whitney Houston version) but to me, it takes a wistful and poignant song and turns it into a screechy arena anthem.

I thought the Grammy awards missed the boat by having Jennifer Hudson sing it for a tribute to Whitney Houston. I think Dolly singing her version would have been a far better and more powerful choice.

One just melts. It is so beautiful. I agree, it is better as a wispy and poignant melody than a loud wail.
