I've seen him twice in concert...

He's almost without peer on an acoustic.
and a monster on electric..

one of my favorites (from 1985) (solo starts at 2:16)

I’ve been reading about folk since 6:00 this morning and this gave me a nice finishing touch. As a hobby, I enjoy studying traditional folk and balladry, - and have been collecting several books of song collections from Scotland, England, and of course the Southern Appalachian’s, (imported Anglo) and the Southern plantation (imported African melodies with traditional text) ( I really get a groove when I listen to the fusing of the two which forms bluegrass and blues ballads) If you have an interest in the subject I’d like to recommend a great book. It titled “Wayfaring Stranger, - The Musical Voyage from Scotland and Ulster to Appalachia” written and extensively researched by Fiona Ritchie and Doug Orr. ( Fiona Ritchie is no relation to Jean Ritchie, - one of the most incredible folk singers and master of the Appalachian dulcimer who’s ever lived) Thanks again for sharing 🤓

I'll check it out. I know the subject matter fairly well as I've been playing
studying and gigging the last 60 years...
