1. I always thought if The Velvet Underground and Roxy Music had a kid it would be The Tubes

Uncompromising bad ass musicians they were. They may have lost some of their hard core fans in 83 with the the MTV super pop She's a Beauty but hey, ya gotta make a buck. Their live shows were always a wonderful mix of beautiful absurdity and just plain old bad ass jams.
The first time I ever saw them was the Remote Control tour. If I remember right you had to be 18 to get in lol. In my top 10 rock bands for sure.

2. True. The real early stuff was glam rock and bodacious on stage

Great talents. When "What do you want from life" came on the radio I was hooked.
