DU can help me build this playlist

Let me describe the flavor: Small-town VFW hall jukebox with 50-cent beers in 1979.

Nothing raucous or rowdy, nothing saccharine sweet or maudlin, just warm feelings about staying an extra hour to dance with your sweetie, or wish you had a sweetie.

I'll start:

I Fall to Pieces - Patsy Cline
Wasted Days and Wasted Nights - Freddie Fender
Nowhere To Run - Martha & The Vandellas
Can't Take My Eyes Off of You -Frankie Valli
Return to Sender - Elvis
California Dreamin' - Mamas and Papas
My Way - Frank Sinatra
Flowers On The Wall - The Statler Brothers
Never My Love - The Association
Cecilia - Simon and Garfunkel
Stardust - Willie Nelson
America The Beautiful - Ray Charles
Rhinestone Cowboy - Glen Campbell
In the Mood - Glenn Miller
Smoke Rings - Les Paul
Love Me Tender - Elvis
Mack the Knife - Bobby Darin
There Goes My Baby - Drifters
Hey Good Lookin - Hank Williams
Sea of Love - Phil Phillips
The Great Pretender - Platters
16 Candles - The Crests
In the Midnight Hour - Wilson Pickett
My Girl - The Temptations
Too Late to Turn Back Now - Cornelius Brothers
Brandy - Looking Glass
Come and Get Your Love - Redbone
Drown in my Own Tears - Ray Charles

The years don't have to stop at 1979, but it has to hit like it was back in the day.
Please don't say "Anything by The Everly Brothers", tell us THE ONE SONG.

The main act was the amazing rhythm aces. When they came on they turned the volume to 11- it was very painful.
I walked out during the first song, but didn't feel too bad about it as I got my money's worth from Steve.

Baby Love, the Supremes.
Do You Know the Way to San Jose, Dionne Warwick.

I am trying to think of songs people can sing along to.

Now, a road trip songlist is a totally different matter and I find little fault in John Sandford's Lucas Davenport's list if it's augmented with a seperate Beatles playlist.

Getting back to the playlist, if this is a hip VFW, you might want to throw in a Charlie Pride tune. Can't think of which one right now.

Oh, of course:
