(57,099 posts)Fortunately for me, the Allmans come from near here and played in the area a lot. I first heard them in 1969 and saw them in probably 9 concerts over the years, 5 with the original band. 2nd best experience on acid was the first time I heard them. They were so amazing, and that never changed - whether I was tripping or not. Their rhythms are just so outstanding, the guitarist sublime, and Greg has such a great voice.

(37,062 posts)And the Cate Brothers were the local rock and Roll favorites in the late 60s forward. Didnt have the notoriety the Allmans but they had a nice career. Still got a bunch of oldie CDs. Recently ordered a new truck and they no longer come with CD players. Ill do what Marines do, adapt, improvise and overcome. Cause I aint giving up the soundtrack of my life.
