Chad's first record with the band. Great drummer and old acquaintance from the '70s.

he and frusciante started on mother's milk. It was the first album after hillel slovak's death and jack irons decided to leave.

Hmm, I don't have Mother's Milk. Maybe that's why I thought that. We were both in bands managed by the same guy in the '70s. He was in a band called Tilt that he tried to put back together about '85 or '86 and he called me to come down and rehearse with them. It never worked out and he joined a band called Toby Redd. About 2 years later, he went to CA to audition for RHCP. He was the last in a long line of drummer's that auditioned.

that you guys know each other! I love the way he plays. I think i read a quote by him once that said, "steal from everyone" (regarding style in playing drums). I always thought that was good advice.

That becomes your own style. There are very few innovators. My style is a blend of 4 or 5 different players with a little of me in the mix.

Although, I'm not very good. Self taught, been playing for about 24 years. I listen to who i like and try to emulate.
