I want to thank DU'er 3Hotdogs...

I want to thank DU'er 3Hotdogs for kindly and gently letting me know that Kyrie Eleison is sung during the most sacred of Catholic religious services.

I did not know that.

I apologize to any of my DU brothers and sisters of the Catholic faith who found my post offensive or inappropriate. I think the piece is beautiful, and the soprano's voice amazing, and I wanted to share that.

Even though I'm told that the piece was played on British radio during the 1960's, and no one has taken me to task for posting it, I am removing it anyway on the chance that some might find it offensive to post alongside secular music.

I notice that you recc'ed that post, and I am thankful for your grace in the matter. I found the piece beautiful, and I probably listened to it at least 10 times last night. Not only do I find the composition beautiful, but Christine Nonbo Andersen's voice is incredible, imho.

I'm not Catholic but I have my own religious beliefs. I see no reason to risk offending others over a matter like this.

Thank you again for your kind words.

Whatever you wanna post in the future feel free. I love the kyrie.

I'm "Catholic" but far from dogmatic. Very far.

I enjoyed it. I also have Missa Luba on my download to listen while in the car or hiking.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. The decision to remove it was based entirely on my own thoughts about the matter.
