Just wondering, not arguing as taste is such an individual thing.
For me, Foreigner did very well-crafted tunes with a fantastic singer.
That's how I feel about Bad Company, too.
Just wondering why you like one, but not the other.

9. There was a point where local popular radio seemed to have a lot of good music to discover. Then it got taken over by

the set-list programmers who had no connection to the region where the music was being played. It seemed like their default. saturation group was Foreigner. To me, they represented everything that was wrong with blap radio.

I had that feeling about WDRV (classic rock)here in Chicago who played, IMO, too much Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, The Who.
With 30+ years to select from, there were great bands effectively ignored.
So, I get it.

11. Going to school at Wabash in Central Indiana, I had plenty of Chicago friends.

They were loyal to The Buckinghams and Rotary Connection.

See what I did there?
The bands I knew from Chicago/Illinois back then were Cheap Trick, REO, Starcastle, Aliotta, Haynes & Jeremiah, and Shaadows Of Knight.
Later, I knew the folks in Survivor & Smashing Pumpkins.
Even though I knew them I wasn't a big fan of most of them. Go figure

4. I Like It

She sings it well, the backing vocals are really cool, and the funky rhythm during the verses is a really good idea.
My only criticism is the guitar solo. Seemed kind of aimless & scattered, without the technique to pull off abstract.

So glad they are FINALLY going to be inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame.

Paul Rodgers has always had one of the sexiest voices in rock. Their first single:
