He also wrote Im a Believer. A number of Monkees songs were written by big name composers of the time.

Boyce and Hart wrote a bunch. I think Carole King even wrote a few.

Its always seemed odd to me that she spent so much time writing music for others, when she had that beautiful voice.

Micky - one of the most underrated pop vocalists IMO - sings it with enough of a sneer that I can imagine little Johnny Rotten and Dee Dee Ramone and the Clash's Mick Jones taking mental notes.
