2. Both styles require mad skills, but I'm not a fan of the ballroom style...

mostly because the moves are scripted and the same moves are taught to all dancers.

Swing styles such as Jitterbug, Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing and others are improvisational by nature. Once the basic moves are mastered, dancers are encouraged to improvise along with the music being played. Matching and complementary floor-play between partners is common and encouraged, particularly during Jack n' Jill competitions which match random partners with each other.
