Wonderful version on an amazing instrument.

(77,291 posts)All I know about it is how it's tuned.
The lowest note is in the middle.
As you go upward to the top of the neck it's tuned in perfect 5ths. Going downward it's 4th, so the scale shapes resemble guitar.
That's the extent of my knowledge.

(77,291 posts)They're hard to find used, and when they come up they're always 2 grand or more, used.
I saw one that 10 years old and had a serial number in the 1400s. So, they don't make many.
Their biggest distributor has nothing in stock so everything has to be custom ordered.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
