those ole cowboy poets that used to pop up every now and then at rodeos and state fairs...
Such a quaint old term, but i love it because it separates the old country music so well from all the modern day commercial CRAP (ok, not all)...

Because he seems like a throwback to the pickers and singers I loved in the old days... Even though he isn't the youngest guy around either
