I think the peak Tony Iommi creative era were the Dio years.

The 1st Ozzy era was very cool, it laid the foundation that metal is still building on. They left a no doubt legendary discography.

But that late 70s early 80s production, Ronnie's song writing style and a sober and healthy Bill Ward and Geezer Butler, that was pretty freaking magical too.

Perhaps that era is overlooked because it was so short. I don't know, but lately I've been coming back to those records.

The last one, Dehumanizer suffered from that early 80s disease that killed so many 70s hard rockers - Weird production for weirdness' sake, chasing MTV exposure with shitty vodeos and the like.
