I think it illuminates flaws too much.
I heard the slide isolated on the coda of Layla.
Really depressing to hear Duane miss that many notes.
Imagine if you hear the isolated track of a guitar player you don't think much of anyway.
Pretty hard to sit through.
I know I won't be buying that software! At least hearing examples first dissuaded me from spending the money.

But I find isolated tracks as a way of listening to every layer for its singular contribution to the musical moment. To listen to a song, that you've heard a lot: then hear it one instrument at a time, brings out my appreciation of the total contribution each musician made to the the product..
