peyote, mescaline and opium.

I was on a jury panel for a drug case when I raised my hand to say I couldn't be on the panel. I listed those drugs as ones that I had used and pointe out that the War on Drugs was a waste of tax money and harmful to the community. I would never vote for a conviction on a drug case.

That was 30 years ago and I was never called back for jury duty.

Drugs I used in order back in the day- alcohol (once or twice, didn't really like it), Bennies, pot, hash, Black Beauties, lsd, mescaline, peyote, psylicibin (sp), coke, meth. Quit all psychedelics in 1985 after I got too far out and didn't enjoy it. Moved to FL to get out of the coke group I was part of and to help my parents who were very elderly by then. Tried quitting smoking pot for 90 days but couldn't sleep and didn't feel good so back to smoking, but only 1 gm per day now - less than half of what I was smoking in Dec. I'd still prefer to go the edible route, but with the tiny amts for edibles allowed in FL, it doesn't work for me - sucks!

4. Typo - Marij . My cousin died from pot. From the time in his 20's, joint after joint, day after day.

While it doesn't have nicotine, it does have tar - more tar than tobacco. By the time he died in his 70's, he couldn't get enough breath to walk across his living room.

I really miss him. He was like being with Hunter Thompson,

Now I just smoke a little less than a gram at night. i tried edibles but the weak kinds allowed in FL don't work for my sleeping issues. The tale of your cousin just confirmed my worst fears. If my coughing gets bad again, not sure what to do, but crossing that bridge when I come to it.

I went with my three close buddies to the Berwyn Theater (Chicago suburb) to see a triple feature of Marx Brothers movies. Only one of us had tripped before. We had 4-way windowpane, so he took a half while the rest of us took a quarter each. We went in his car.

Has anyone else in the history of LSD "experimentaion" tripped for the first time to three Marx Brothers movies? We laughed our asses off. It all went so quickly, yet their rapid-fire humor slowed down as one scene melted into the next. We got every single joke.

When we exited the theater, our friend who took the half was flying too high to drive, so I volunteered. I got us home safely, no problem.

During the drive, we listened to the latest from Pink Floyd on the car's 8-track player -- Dark Side of the Moon.
