Pink Floyd Observation

In retrospect, both Madcap Laughs and Barrett are actually much better albums than Atom Heart Mother.

And I love the Waters led and then Gilmore led versions of PF. But there was a very brief moment after Syd was too fucked up to be in the band that he was still making better music than the newly formed classic line up.

Yeah Dark Side of the Moon and anything after compared to anything before (by PF with or without Syd or his solo stuff) is apples and oranges. But Atom Heart Mother is half a great album. And don't you think almost anything off of MCL or Barrett would have fit right in with Fat Old Sun and that side of AHM.

There is a pretty cool documentary on YouTube called Between Syd and the Dark Side that covers covers Saucer Full of Secrets through Meddle. I'm sure you have seen it.
