Said first time he heard Winwood on tape he thought it was a black guy in his 20s, but at the time he was actually a skinny 16 year old.

He was also a founding member of Traffic
Of course he worked with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker (Refugees from the collapse of Cream) in Blind Faith
And he was in one of my favorites oddball projects of the 70s. He joined up with Al DiMeola, Stomu Yamashita, Al Shultz and Michael Schrieve for 3 albums in the band "GO" a real fusion band with a rock and roll edge
He had several hits as a solo artist as well. Maybe because he had no drama and just worked and kept working but he isn't nearly as well known as he should be
