Led Zeppelin live on Danish TV, March 1969
Wow! I had never seen this before, it showed up in my YouTube feed today. They're so young and just killing it:
I could watch John Bonham all day. He's such a badass.

2. I just realized that I could probably "name that tune in 5 seconds"
with every Led Zep song for their first 5 albums. This live performance from their first is fucking fantastic!

4. Lol! Same here
The first 5 albums are incredible. 1 miiight be my favorite, but I have a soft spot for 3.
I hadn't listened to Zep in a while and have been on a kick lately. I realised the songs are indelibly etched on my brain. The lyrics, exact solos, and even my air drumming is still spot on, even on the songs I haven't heard in 20 years. ![]() It was weird to see Jimmy playing a Telecaster in this video– I've always so strongly associated him with Gibson/Les Paul. He sounds fucking fantastic, though. |

5. Their album In Through the Out Door cover and sleeve are special too.
"The original album featured an unusual gimmick: the album had an outer sleeve which was made to look like a plain brown paper bag (reminiscent of similarly packaged bootleg album sleeves with the title rubber-stamped on it), and the inner sleeve featured black and white line artwork which, if washed with water, would become permanently fully coloured.
The album artwork was designed by Hipgnosis' Storm Thorgerson." He went to art school with the two founders of Pink Floyd (Barrett and Waters) and designed the "Dark Side of the Moon" album cover among others. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Through_the_Out_Door I found this out from someone on DU last year and went and got my album out tried it and discovered that it DOES turn into water colors when wet. I love stuff like that about my original albums. |
