But those have their own charms too

(13,159 posts)I have no direct knowledge (since is was a baby at the time), but I saw my mother singing as she nursed my younger siblings, So I am confident that I took in this music ... Wait for it ... With my mother's milk
My Uncle LeRoy played hammered dulcimer. My Great Uncle Red played mandolin and mandocello (baritone mandolin - Like Mandolin =Violin and Mandocello = Cello). My Grandfather played guitar and everybody sang - After a fashion
It is my shame that I abandoned mountain music for some years in my early adult life and derided it as corny backwoods shit that I had obviously outgrown
But I never threw away the records I had
And I whole-heartedly love this genre now
