RIP Mr John Prine.
As good a song writer as a man could be. The chronicle keeper of American life and a man who could make the plain gruff American voice a lyrical instrument.
Damnit.

(13,748 posts)I'm so hurt about this, and I can't reconcile my emotions over a man I've never even met.
The only connection I've ever had with John Prine was the one I made up in my mind.
But more than all the other scores of thousands of people this virus has taken. his death hurts - personally

(4,138 posts)I've been reading a bunch of personal anecdotes of chance encounters with him, and along with being a top-tier songwriter, it sounds like he was a thoroughly decent and kind man.
Anyway, here's a slammin' cover of "Paradise."
