FUCK , Fuck, fuck... John didn't make it after all

RIP Mr John Prine.

As good a song writer as a man could be. The chronicle keeper of American life and a man who could make the plain gruff American voice a lyrical instrument.

Damnit.

This low quality screen keeps getting blurry...

You meant a lot to a lot of people for a long time.

And if you see Mr. Peabody trying to butt in the line to where you're going, give him a big 'ole sock in the jaw from me.

I usually try to engage and answer with people on these.

I literally cannot do that here.

I have to stop and dry my eyes every few words just reading this thread.

Losing John has hit me harder than I would have evrt have guessed possible

Stay safe and stay home people.

I'm so hurt about this, and I can't reconcile my emotions over a man I've never even met.

The only connection I've ever had with John Prine was the one I made up in my mind.

But more than all the other scores of thousands of people this virus has taken. his death hurts - personally

I've been reading a bunch of personal anecdotes of chance encounters with him, and along with being a top-tier songwriter, it sounds like he was a thoroughly decent and kind man.

Anyway, here's a slammin' cover of "Paradise."

This is an extremely sad time for me.

Here's a couple of great covers, one old, one new.
