Another Something Different

We're all music crazies here, but there has to something systemic that bugs us about certain songs.
I'll start.
I HATE songs about where people are from.
No exceptions. Don't want to hear Sweet Home Chicago, or Georgia On My Mind, or Under The Bridge. (And I've lived in the Chicago market my whole life.)
I don't care where the songwriter is from, and how cool it is there!
Not sure why, but songs like that are like fingernails on a chalk board!

I HATE whiny twangy country music, it makes my skin crawl. I do like fast picking and slide guitars - a lot - but when those maudlin alley cat vocals start, I turn off the song immediately. I also in general don't like soft rock, too insipid for the most part. There is some I like, like some of Dan Fogelberg and Bruce Hornsby songs are beautiful, not dreary. If something is going to be sad, make it be the blues where the best of their music can transport you to a different place or smooth dreamy jazz melodies with great sax and piano arrangements.

Well typing this, maybe I do have a theme I dislike, whining. Screaming, crying I like - those are real gut emotions, but whining is just damn annoying.

The only country I hear that doesn't immediately reject it is the new stuff that just sounds like 70s rock. And I don't want to hear a faux Bad Company with a Tennessee accent! LOL!

It’s particularly common in country music. Some guy sings that gosh darn, he still wears his worn out blue jeans, drives a pickup truck and drinks beer. Then he gets into his chauffeured limo and goes home to open a bottle of Courvoisier.

Might be OK, if it's a first hit.
Example for you, you'll likely hate.
Remember Bon Jovi, Wanted Dead Or Alive?
Complaining about life on the road, but the video shows them getting on & off a private jet! I don't think they thought that through.
