As a singer myself, I lose respect for "studio musicians". And when I make that statement, I mean specifically those who can't perform at the same level live....

Maybe it was just because the two of them weren't doing the songs that made either of them famous, and only those that they collaborated on.

I know Neil Finn toured for years with Crowded House and they were huge, so he must know how to do it.

I’ve seen some world-class musicians have truly shitty gigs, and if that had been my only experience of them I would probably tell everyone they were a disappointment live.

Ever had a really bad day at work?

with his brother, and they weren't doing any of the songs either of them was particularly known for.

So I am guessing he had much better tours before and after.

His music is great. I've always been a fan.

Master songwriter hitting his stride.

And the snare drum has the PERFECT amount of ring for the track.

Crowded House was my transition from the hair metal bands I listened to in middle school to the more alternative rock bands in high school and college. His lyrics have always just really spoken to me for some reason.

But I went from metal to The Crowes. There is nowhere in that range for Crowded House right? Of course we are speaking in the mindset of 80's to aught's kids whose identity was completely wrapped up in who they listened to. Such is the shame...

I tried to learn it on the guitar, then got pregnant and never picked up the instrument again.

Now my kiddo wants me to teach her guitar. May be a sign.

Big big fan of all things Finn since the mid 1970s... even had the pleasure of seeing Split Enz in a tiny club back when they were riding their New Wave popularity.

Am particularly fond of the first solo album, and especially this song:
